it's not big enough

it's not
too small;
it's just
not big
enough

---

seems no matter how
nearby the toilet, it squats
at outhouse distance

                         ---barbsdad
---

my bladder's
just not big enough
to get me sleeping
through the long,
long night

I hope, dear
friends, you realize
the sorry state
of my sorry,
sorry plight

when I stumble
to the bowl past mid
of night, I do
my best to find it
while in woeful want
of sight

and I can't help but
think---thr'out my
muddled thinking while
mechanically
relieving---that this
somehow isn't fair;
this is not, is
not right

Getting older mkes things seem not right

Things seem to become a struggle, yes? It's that space betwixt the seat and porcelain that brings such dismay OMG the need for a HP commode ... yep getting old :( I like this distressful poem poem and think it my fav terlet writing yet. Mark

Hey, Mark!

Thanx. And it's not just/only the getting older. It's the diabetes that rides right along with it. Although I do say the latter with my tongue a bit in cheek. I must admit I'm feeling fine. Just had a birthday. Feelin' more like 35, actually, than about twice that. The diabetes diagnosis at 48 got my attention. I've managed since then to make myself far healthier than I would have been had I not become diabetic ... and had felt no need---or little need, anyway---to alter my then-current lifestyle path. Yours, Chuck

Chuck...

bathroom unfun... I do it too... hate it when I stump my toe in the dark on something left out by one of the kids... or even worse, on something that hasn't moved in years... but mine obviously isn't big enough either... and as far as I know, I'm just old... old and gotta go... love your wit... Chuck, Thanks for the laugh, I enjoyed this one from you~ ______________________________________________________ Income-tax forms should be more realistic by allowing the taxpayer to list "Uncle Sam" as a dependent Anonymous
