That One Yaps

"That bird yaps," I say.
"How can a bird yap?" she says.
"Don't know; that one yaps."

Mike

I was thinking more along the lines of a part of a lyric from Steve Earle's Guitar Town: "Just outta Austin, bound for San Antone, with the radio blastin' and the bird-dog on..." ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- - "Atheism is a non-prophet organization" - George Carlin -"Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things" - George Carlin

Actually, there is, against ...

all odds, a simple explanation behind this piece: Just minding my own business, whatever it was at the time yesterday morning early, when a chihuahua (or was it a yorkie? a peke?) flew past the open back-door screen to land on a branch just off the patio, threw out a quick yap, then took wing to further parts. First time I've ever seen such a thing. Or ever heard from bough of tree. On the other hand, could it be that a strange bird (unrecognizable to me) flitted to side of crabapple tree facing the patio (the very one showing its face---er, flowers---in my new profile pic), alighted on a branch, threw out a yap/bark that were I not seeing that 'twas indeed a bird, I'd've thought it a little dog become elevated? Then, of course, to carry on with my tale designed to mystify, it just moved on. Airily, I might say. I'm too old to be mystified. Don't know what's come over me. Lately. Thanx, guys, Chuck
