A word a Sound

A word a sound

A word a sound
Is heard with the volume
Of searching for
In  the mind of a child

No matter what word is spoken
Nice and low
Delivered with the essence
Of love but dose he know

Its  the same as when you shout
Please my child
I told you how

Do not do that again
As you wonder
What year of his life
Will this end

Have ever  thought
Beyond a child's faults
To use a smile and a hug
As the words that a child's loves

Your words will take seed
Only in the  day this child believes

That love is first
Second to a spoken verse

But a hug is this child dreams
And a smile is more of a word
In a bond  of  a child needs

Nice, nice Press!

I like the message, showing love, stronger than any words a child might hear! and too, how they are delivered makes a huge difference! Hollering tends to scare them till they eventually tune you out! *lol, here we going, trying not to feed…. Second verse, last line.. ‘Of love but dose he know” (does he know) I’m not sure I get that meaning… the way I am reading it your saying, even when words are spoken with love, does the child know? To me, yes. But, perhaps that’s the way you meant it, for your next line… even when shouted out, can he tell the difference between the emotions? I had to chuckle at verse 4…we all wonder when they are little, when will they start to listen? lol *verse 5, last line. Child does not need to be plural. Just ‘child’ I would combined the next 4 lines into one verse. They are A continuation of the same idea. Try to think if you are talking about one child or more than one And toggle between child, (singular), child’s (possessive), or Children (plural)—several places in the poem are confusing I am not Sure if you are speaking of children in general or one specific child. *last verse- But a hug is this child’s dream or but a hug is children’s dreams (plural) and a smile is more of a word.. all good :) in a bond of a child’s need or in a bond of children’s needs.. see the difference? Lovely subject and good lesson for people to take note of! Just work on your speech use in your writing. Okay? Hope this helps Press! Always Sincere, Tonya

I second Tonya

Since she got here first. *LOL* She said everything I would have said. Also, as she said, great subject and good lesson for all to learn. Just a little work on your speech and it will be wonderful. Well done. Respectfully, Rett: Next time you think you're perfect, walk on water! For the sake of children, read this. http://www.neopoet.com/node/19905
