The Labyrinth

Even in my mostconscious moment, there's part of methat's still asleepEven in my mostjoyous moment, there's part of methat's sorrowful

Even in my most

magnanimous moment,

there's part of me

that's still unkind

Even in my most

enlightened moment,

there's part of me

that's hard to findEven in my highestmoment of confidencethere's part of methat's still in doubtEven in my highestmoment of claritythere's part of methat's still confusedEven in my mostpleasurable moment, there's part of methat's still in painEven in my highestmoment of truth, there's part of methat  lives a lieEven in my mostforgiving moment, there's part of methat's unforgivingEven in my mostpatient moment, there's part of methat's always hurried

Even in my moment

of serenity

there is part of me

that's in conflict

Even in my mostpeaceful moment, there's part of methat's still at warEven in my most

lived moment

there is part of me

that wants to die

Even in my mostliberated moment, there's part of methat's still a slave

Hello

Just wanted to say how much I liked this. It seems to me life is full of these contradictions and incongruities.Everything containing the seed of everything else inside it. Beautiful but baffeling.

So nice to (see)read you

So nice to (see)read you again. Your poem is truth itself, allows all of us to be human. Thank you. Much love, Anna

Leonard...

Good to see you here with your flowing ways... truth is indeed a contradiction, we are all layered with levels of confusing revelations... but not everyone can write about it so eloquently... very well said my friend! Richard

Hello Leonard

The ironies, paradoxes, dichotomies--there's is not a single subject where this phenomenon cannot play. I think about it all the time. Matter--anti-matter--negative numbers--mind boggling. This is my favorite poem from your collection, so far. Yours, Deelilah

How Beautifully Described!

How beautifully you described all these feelings.... Your observation of life and human feelings is so deep Leonard, I've felt very same in different moments of my life. Life is always confusing and full of contradictions with a lot of strange mysteries... and unsolved questions.... an unsolved riddle indeed. I liked this poem very much. Thanks for sharing your feelings and thoughts with us. Sincerely, Wafi

Thank you Wafi

This just goes to show that all of us share similiar feelings but have different ways of expressing them. Glad that you liked it Leonard
