Fred and Karen

Twelve years we have been married,
On this day in May,
You know I loved you then,
I love you more today.

I still look back to days,
When it was fresh and new.
I can hear you say,
You really love me too.

Days upon the beach,
I still remember those.
Not beyond my reach,
My heart still keeps them close.

I have always felt,
That it's been  the best for me.
My heart does still melt,
When your face I see.

So hug me and kiss my lips,
Put your arms around my hips.
Those things,I wouldn't trade for gold.
These things, they never get too old!

What wonderful...

Hey,Batgirl! Love your new pic! Thanks for your read and comments. This was written for these people with a minimum of information about them. I only know them from work. Karen is one of our call-takers at the taxi company. Her husband was one of our drivers. He is terminally-ill and maybe months to live. I like them both very much and when Karen was told that I am a poet, she asked if she could pay me to write something for them. I told her that I would do it as a present for them. Glad you saw the sincerity in it. Gee.

Forgive me?

I have to quibble a little with some of the lines here as they make slight stumbling blocks for the flow Geezer, dear you, forgive me do. Twelve years we have been married, On this day in May, (On just this day in May,) You know I loved you then, I love you more today. ( But even more today.) I still look back to days, When it was fresh and new. ( When love was fresh and new.
) I can hear you say, ( And still I hear you say,) You really love me too. (You really loved me too.) Days upon the beach, I still remember those. Not beyond my reach, My heart still keeps them close. I have always felt, ( Its as I always felt
) That it’s been the best for me. ( Its been the best for me
) My heart does still melt, ( My heart it still does melt, ) When your face I see. ( When your sweet face I see.) So hug me and kiss my lips, Put your arms around my hips. Those things,I wouldn’t trade for gold. (These things I wouldn't trade for gold.) These things, they never get too old! ( These things they never get too old.) You are the one worth the gold. Yours Ann of Norway.

Awwww

hehehe How sweet! This was a really cute poem, Gee! I wish my husband would write me something like this. (Ann's suggestions are nice, but this one - I dunno - it sounds like you - if that makes sense. It has your voice. (Or your own writing style to it - dunno how else to say it.)

I know what you mean Blue Halcyon

I do, I know what you mean I only put them a suggestions as you know. Things should be personal, even our idiosyncrasies can add something to a poem that is uniquely us, that is what makes poetry exciting too. Yours Geezer and B. H. Ann of Norway

Thank you Ann and Blue Halcyon

Thanks to both of you, Ann,I think Blue is right. I was on the fence with this one,as to wether I should adopt some or all of the changes you suggested. I feel I should let this stand as is. Thank you for your comments though,I do respect your expertis, and never feel as though you are intruding, especially as I have asked for you to knock me on my back! Thank you,Gee.

good afternoon

Thank you for your kind comments Blanka. This was a surprise, and joy to hear. I am always glad to hear that someone has read something that I have written and left behind. Especially when they give such kind comments. I actually wrote a poem about such occurences titled "Not lost just waiting". I am pleased to make your acquaintance, and If you wish, would like to add you to my buddy-list. I will look forward to seeing more of your work here at neopoet. Thank you once again, for taking the time to read my work and commenting. Gee.
