The Experiencer

I think that  one should try something new
and throw away something old

And quit something
quit eating french fries
for example

Or quit  something that is
somewhat relevant to
your perceived identity
like Bob Dylan

I quit Bob Dylan
and It was easy
I have had zero Bob Dylan cravings

Another thing I quit was Copenhagen ( the chew )
This is not easy
I have massive chew cravings

I started smoking cigarettes
just one now and then
and I really do hate them
but it's a form of nicotine replacement therapy
sitting in a chair by the garden
looking at the tulip shoots

The tulips are craving the
warm sun, same as me
they are waiting to blossom

The trying something new part is easy
there's always something new to experience
It's the quitting and the throwing away that's difficult

Either way it's getting out of a rut
that makes the difference
