Petrichor

1.

I
left
my heart
open
for you
I
am waiting
on the other
side
nothing
but space
between us

Did you know I
wrote this poem
just for you?

A drop
of inspiration
caresses me
with these thoughts of you.

2.

There are magnolias
growing
in your eyes.

But we want the unassailable
truth,
sometimes impudent, sometimes jubilant
don't we?

The thunder rolls,
fades away
deeply purple
like old scars
and fresh lilacs.

3.

This is a thank-you poem
"To an Intermediary Lover".

We seized
the ripeness of the sun
with words and wrote
the saga of our truth and
the opus of our denial.

Smoldering with intensity,
our tongues aglow,
red-hot ashes
fell
like a firestorm,

and the earth was
iridescent with feathers
of a golden dawn,

satiated

we cooled down
when the moon was full,
we realized we were
still too far away
to move
heaven to earth.

This is a lovely

Set of writing with the feelings briming over and flowing outward as an ebb tide and as the tide ebbs so the distance grows but the memory of the shore being loved by the waves as it rushed in those moments ago are held in your words so very well, Yours Ian.T

One quick whoops: line 9 …

One quick whoops: line 9 ... sde = side? The smell of rain on the earth, hmm. I knew of ichor, though not this. The chemical processes involved must be complex indeed even at the atomic level. What is certain is that the one needs the other: Though the tight-knit lattice shakes and atoms dance and shear the crystal structure holds on hard so solid, sharp and clear. For solo singing’s not enough [how could she forget?] his melody needs her soft roulade they’ll need to sing duet A delicious and delicate morsel to brighten my weekend. I could easliy find 'purple patches' but there wouldn't be much left if I did. Mike "not all matterings of mind equal one violet" ~ e e cummings ~

Oh how do I begin?

Oh how do I begin? A haunting story of two meeting and parting as if in the eddying tide, swinging for the one night, then washed back into the sea by the next tide. The one night when all the elements were just there swaying and beautiful, then gone, like the dying of a song into eternity. Lovely my namesake Anna, Ann of Norway

A least there has been a short day

before the long night Anna, and with those ruly cycles which punctuate our unruly lives there will be day again, whether we want it or not. Compared to you Yanks there are perilously few of us Brits, although we have been known to pen a few good lines from time to time, and Im glad you like us so much lol. The poem was, of course beautiful although, as often, the line structure was not and we both know that lol. No matter what the structure though it was easy to read the words but still to catch the silent eddies of their meaning. Keith

Wait a minute there, Brit…

Wait a minute there, Brit... I am a displaced person, Munich-born. lol. and my eddies are not-so-silent sometimes.. sometimes they are soundly heard. ;-) ~A "The way you make love is the way God will be with you." Rumi
