1.
I
left
my heart
open
for you
I
am waiting
on the other
side
nothing
but space
between us
Did you know I
wrote this poem
just for you?
A drop
of inspiration
caresses me
with these thoughts of you.
2.
There are magnolias
growing
in your eyes.
But we want the unassailable
truth,
sometimes impudent, sometimes jubilant
don't we?
The thunder rolls,
fades away
deeply purple
like old scars
and fresh lilacs.
3.
This is a thank-you poem
"To an Intermediary Lover".
We seized
the ripeness of the sun
with words and wrote
the saga of our truth and
the opus of our denial.
Smoldering with intensity,
our tongues aglow,
red-hot ashes
fell
like a firestorm,
and the earth was
iridescent with feathers
of a golden dawn,
satiated
we cooled down
when the moon was full,
we realized we were
still too far away
to move
heaven to earth.
I
left
my heart
open
for you
I
am waiting
on the other
side
nothing
but space
between us
Did you know I
