Desire
The night is quiet
Like calm before a storm
I didn't ask for love
I shunned all types
But here I am,
Questioning the unmentionable
What was I thinking? Why was I so stupid?
Did I even love him..?
What was only a few months ago
Feels like a lifetime
Through another's eyes
I feel I should be greatful
That he went away
I try to deny myself all types of fornication
Because I strive for difference
Dislike and lust do not paint a pretty picture
I'd imagine sultry crimson
And the darkest ebony possible
No jade or lapis
Walking the tightrope line
Of eloquence and animal
Desire so bold
Dislike so cold
Fire and ice
Made as one.
Like calm before a storm
I didn't ask for love
I shunned all types
But here I am,
Questioning the unmentionable
What was I thinking? Why was I so stupid?
Did I even love him..?
What was only a few months ago
Feels like a lifetime
Through another's eyes
I feel I should be greatful
That he went away
I try to deny myself all types of fornication
Because I strive for difference
Dislike and lust do not paint a pretty picture
I'd imagine sultry crimson
And the darkest ebony possible
No jade or lapis
Walking the tightrope line
Of eloquence and animal
Desire so bold
Dislike so cold
Fire and ice
Made as one.
