To the Rescue

His everyday morning unfolds to a day
where he sits to eat breakfast alone,
in fact, every meal's the same in this way
his lone companion is just his cell-phone.

Consider him lucky, or consider him cursed
he's a great guy, as others would tell,
he's not common people, yet he's treated the worse,
no one thirsts after leaving his "well".

All things to all people is what he does best,
he's there for all, but does not want the fame...
his notoriety defines him as merely a "guest",
and loneliness is his middle name.

It's not that he's hated, he's just more or less "shunned"
with no family he resembles a "zero"...
make all your donations out to the victim's fund
for this man's a perpetual hero.

Doc!

This is goooooood! Is rather sad, but, to me tells of someone more or less comfortable in his own skin. A really nice guy that does what he can for others, and i suppose, expects nothing in return, wants nothing in return. Yes, a hero for sure. The flow is great, great rhyme (all smoothy like, nothing forced) Sounds like an unselfish chap to me too. (and none of my pet peeve..which probably doesn't matter, but the filler words. Sorry if i had offended you with that comment.) Excellent poem. Always Sincere, Tonya

Tonya....

...I saw a Bruce Willis sequel called, "Die Hard or Die Trying"...or something like that, and he gave this speech about being a hero...and it dawned on me how linely it could be. So, I wrote about it...and I'm very pleased that you read it, enjoyed it, AND took the time to comment on it. I sincerely thank you. #{:>{)]@==== docmaverick.
