Coz' of the Widow and the Thief

The man sat slumped inside his office
Head face down on his new desk,
Wearing a brand new suit
smoking a fresh cigar,
Sporting a new pair of boots;
He sat upstairs
Far from the swill of the many men
Also out of earshot of the working whores
Its your laws he frequently ignores
And what laws? I hear you ask
He had a different set
Just for within these walls.
He offers, often persuasive and pushy:
Opium, Whiskey, gamblin'
Violence, murder, tobacco and pussy.
Anything a mans soul could want
Anything rude, crude
that'll cause a mans ruin
Anything that'll fill his safe, his drawers,
fill his pockets and his greasy little paws,
And everyone knew what he was doin'
His steely jet black moustache
Hides the sweat beading on his lip
He pours himself another whiskey
Drinks it, Gulping, refusing to sip.
Tonight he awaits
For the word from his workers
For the verdict of what he previously had ordered...
...that the theif and the widow
be drawn and quartered.
In a single motion
he slammed his hand down hard
and jumped to his feet.
A task too large
to not watch them complete.
The silence.... overwhelming
The wait.... insufferable
The guilt is terrible, immense and unbearable
Too intense for one man to handle.
The echos repeated forever down the canyon
he had shot himself dead,
With a fucking hand cannon.

Mmm of all those that could get overwrought
Powerful drunken men with guns??
Hahahaha....who'd of thought?!

Fat cats, gangsters and Kings.

This was a pretty intense ride, I went from Scarface to Henry 8th( please insert roman numerals) stopping to think about capitalism along the way and even had a giggle at the end. Awesome stuff, the first I've read of you, but will surely be checking out some more, much love b x

Hey B

Thanks a lot for your comment :) Glad you enjoyed the ride, hope you enjoy some of the other stuff I've done too. How good is scarface!? Great movie...but this poem was inspired by the old western times...those old american settlements built on mud and the profits of mans ruin. Although henry the IIX wasn't far off :p hahaha Anywayz thanks again The comment and t the vote are much appriciated Bosscombat

Widow and the Thief

Liked this style! Wanted to let you know, that I read most everything you write. I always seem to find something to like, but don't always comment. I just couldn't resist this time. I heard somone say earlier today, "It's not wrong, if you don't get caught." And then this poem of yours.....Almost a RAP! Shades of "Eight Mile" Gee.

hey Gee

Thanks for the comment mate. What's this!? You holdin out on me?! Hahah Ive seen one scene from 8 mile, not a huge fan of eminems acting skills lol Im glad you liked this poem enough to give it a comment and a rate.. You know negative comments I will also embrace so if you do read one of my poems and can't find much good to say I wanna hear the bad stuff too. I wanna become better and that will only happen with brutal honesty from people who know what they are talkin about. Thanks again! Bosscombat

hey Richard

Thanks for the comment mate! I was trying to create a character to be disliked. :) glad it had its effect. This one started out as a spoken word poem as most of my poems are but I thought it'd work better written. Stoked ya like it :) thanks again Bosscombat
