Hope's Evolution
It comes, from nowhere
welling up in me
the wave swelling
building, readying itself
to emerge
a tears slips
spills from the depth
of these eyes
born brown but
living with blackness
I've grown accustomed to the battle
victory elludes me
constantly dancing
juggling fire on some
distant shore
of forgiveness
In a far away land
of self accepting
I can hear the singing
choral wonder
at a world still
just beginning
always starting
never ending
the peaks and troughs
the stop and go
shattered but regrouping
I find comfort
in the recovery of love
in the arms of
hope's evolution
