Waiting for love

The sky stoops low, hung with stone-deaf,protective gargoylescloaked in grey-faced,Easter habits.Their silent, gaping mouthschanting repressed fearswith the dirgesof resurrected past. Spring’s fragile shoots, the tendrils ofhalf- exposed promises, struggle in the gripof frost-choked,white-lipped deceipt,suffocatinghope-seeded groundwhere patience waitsthe budding of thatfragrant, single truth, whose flower he loves,to slip the withering chillof all her winters’ past, and be his everlastingsummer’s bloom.

Things must not be rushed!

Things must not be rushed! Eventually our love and spring will come. Sometimes when we believe something is suppose to happen, is done in good faith and falls to the wayside, through no fault of our own though. Like the cold in your poem, re-visiting, to kill back/set back the blooms of spring/events in life (I also see a parallel to love or live events, cut short in an early bloom, only to be nipped back again.) Your first half.. love the image. Stone cold gargoyles--ominous, feels like they are heralding death. The second half gives promise though. I really like it! Always Sincere, Tonya

Yes the extreme contrasts between the first and second parts of the poem are deliberate. It follows a course from coldness and death through to spring and new life and with a final promise of everlasting summer. Glad you liked it. BW Keith

This is a wonderful, wonderful read Professor, I am laid bare by it in fact, set to silence for a while, quite reverently, it's a nice feeling to honour something so... Where were you when I was looking for love huh? Kidding! Huge admiration for the write, the sentiment, the sensitivity the passion & sadness it evokes, well I can't pick out a favourite line since they are all my favourites. How on earth have I missed reading so much of your work, do you lay low? I want to read more, that's for sure. Hope spring gets sweeter for you Anni ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "...We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?
