bow drawn
It occurred to me, behind chewed lips,
in the star dusted hours spent
not hunting but always readied.
Driving bass lines not enough to soothe
the ache of want and disastrous need.
Piano keyed drops pool like rain
and arrive on cue.
Finding I have been dry and starving
only for the lack of trying.
Sudden rise in humidity
is startling yet found intriguing.
Southern, and should be prepared
but like the dip in voice,
the draw is addictive.
Catching the weary, wide-eyed wonder
Off guard and pants down.
OH MY…
What delicious deviations of course
occur to me, behind chewed lips.
