spells of magic.

magi, shamans, high priests and mage,
all take from earths' book...for this page.

all the works and great spells,
they come from candles,ringing bells.

hope the words come out alright.
don't want toads,or ugly sights.

flames and sparks of lightning flow,
from the hands of those who know.

the staff of blessed and crooked wood,
spread the hope of something good.

jewels of insight to natures' truth,
are the bites of the long in tooth.

the oldest, grey and withered,
full of magic,are the wizards.

you ask, for spells of wealth and love.
get heart so tender, wear kid gloves.

the cloudthings,born of the sky,
have hearts healed and dried eye.

the magic here is in the air,
the spell is woven with great care.

there are no curses, our rites are white.
ain't no black spells, here tonight.

the demons chased, they're all gone now.
power of love, hearts healed somehow.

stars and planets, whirl  about.
spirit voices leave no doubt.

whatever magic we call upon,
bring us riches please.... anon!

I am going to look at this

As immediately i love the contents and the sense of magic spells, I think it is just slightly muddled in its flow of ideas and could be tweaked to become something very good. That's me so far, exciting world we don't live in? Good show Geezer from Ann of Norway

thought you were right,

i thought surgery was necessary to take out muddled part. hope i got it all! thank you, tried to get too much into it! think it is better now. perception is what YOU see! thank you for showing me. gee.

We all look for our spiritual side!

Hello, Geezer, your poem makes me think that man is not made only of flesh! Of course it's only my own way of reading! Best compliments to your grand-son for the good idea! albix

man and magic

man is such an enigma, we cannot know what every man is, but only what we would hope he might be. jason gives me great ideas all the time! i sometimes try to put them in the same way as he presents them to me,but often just take it and run. this was trying to stay within the guidelines of what he gave me but finding it morphing as it grew. so glad you enjoyed! reading it from your perception gives it a different look, thanx, gee

Love, life, and everyday occurences can sometimes truly be magical. you've portrayed that thought well. ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"Just because you have one, doesn't mean you need to be one..." Love and Magic

What a wonderful combination. Reading this you had visions of old wizards casting their spells around spinning in my head. Visions of Harry Potter too *lol*. The best is when words can create such a vivid picture in my head. A++ Knucks

love and magic

my thought was that no matter where you come from, mankind is the same. the human race just wants the same things and goes about getting them in a like manner. we turn to magic because we aren't sure of how to deal it on our own. perception is just your own way of looking at it. gee

Did it bring you riches Good

Did it bring you riches Good Sir Geezer? I hope so for you and your family, but the riches you have in enjoying poetry are far more worth than any other riches aren't they? So long as one has enough to live on. I never came back to help my Geezer, I apologise, this is I think better but now it is so long ago that i don't remember the old one, it ahs a good tale to tell although takes its time in coming to the tale. I can just see you clad in special shaman-like clothes cavorting around chanting your poem, I think I will come to watch the performance it should be good. Very entertaining Sir Gee, form your Q Ann

We are still alive...

So I guess we have enough to live on. Nothing extra, and we are behind... but alive. Yes, I am rich with friends and the world is at my poetry-picking fingertips, I am rich indeed! I am about to do another dance, wheeling like an eagle, prancing like a deer and howling like Brother wolf. Hopefully I will provide for my tribe. ~ Sir Gee
