Moral's Curtain

Those morality chasers
seeking standards
rising high...
elevated above the rest
looking down...
with dead eyes.

Riding through the storm unscathed
laughing at the funny passers-by
when the toll bridge comes
they can pay
loose change
the standards climb.

Cultured...
maybe we should take a bow
and offer gifts to help their stride,
or perhaps those clowns
should wipe my brow
for allowing their finer lives.

What does morality mean today
isn't it all of humanity's plight...
and the ones left behind
are we not the same
aren't we all destined to die.

Good Morining to you

I loved your poem. It has good rhythm to it. It makes me do a lot of thinking. I hope to be able to write like you and everyone else someday. I am just a beginner compared to you and the rest. Please feel to read and critic my poems. I should could use it. To make me a better writer good or bad it will help. I finally got a picture of me on the post. It took me forever to get it on there. I am very puter dumb. It would mean a lot to me if you would read and critic my poems. I wrote one called "Rainbow", but there is also another one named the same. Please choose the correct one if you don't mind to read and critic mine. Thank you for your beautiful poem. It was my pleasure to read it and let you know what I think, I think it's great. Keep up the good writing. Take care of YOU!! Your Friend, Pixee

Richard my friend

This is very good, makes a person think. No matter what else may happen, death comes to all. It matters not if you are rich enough for a solid gold casket nor too poor to have one, the worms will feast anyway. Totally enjoyed it. 4/5 Respectfully, Rett: "A Democracy can withstand anything but Democrats." Robert A. Heinlein For the sake of children, read this. http://www.neopoet.com/node/19905

Double D's...

Glad you are here Julie... your keen eye is always welcome. Destined... oh my, now I look at what I had and I see Desitine ointment... oh no... lol... will surely fix that.... It is amazing to me that two of the lines you talked about were ones I struggled a bit with... aren't we all destined to fall... originally I had something close to that but had went with "die" because I wanted to show that no matter what moral high road one may think they are on, we all end up accepting the simplicity of death. for allowing their finer lives... well, that one is my original line... and I liked it, but it may be too personal... in that I was trying to eliminate myself from the higher-ground-thinking but as you so eloquently stated, we all suffer our own levels... with uncaring eyes... is one I wasn't happy with at all... you have made good suggestions... Now I will think about it awhile... slow ya know! old... oh well... thanks Julie... a keen and caring eye you have my friend... Richard

Yup, yup

We's all desitned to die. (Gotta make room for somethin' else.) Interesting that Swaggert sees a prostitute ... while advising (demanding of) others to behave so differently. Or that a Sunday School teach molests and kills her daughter's eight-year-old best friend. (Everything in this here comment claimed's claimed (exclaimed) allegedly, of course.) Seems to me that those who hold such atmospherically high standards ... hold them for others---and not themselves. (Speakin' allegedly (or for sake of argufying), of course.) Ain't people wonderful? Grand? (Can't think'v a right word for this last line, one that conforms t'my annoyin'ly high standards.) Thanx, Chuck

havent died yet and I used to wear Sperry Topsiders

Now its just fine second hand Ecko shirts and Dollarama Designer Sunglasses I know the high masters holding the staff of power They never seem to fall just get passed to a new town the innocents are the ones swept up and sacrificed living their lives content and almost invisible through ignorance or just too new to have their graph high and visible the mighty build walls to protect Imagine if Swaggert was dissappeared Or a high Preist of a congregation a judge politician life goes on My Deck shoes wore out I only hope my Ecko shirt lasts three years I hope I get another year at Neoppoet to read such great artists as yourself and your poems about the world about us Five stars Richard!!
