Speech Impediment
Text, text, blog, blog, email,
Let's give it's due to the cyber world,
Hail, Hail!!
Wait, Stop! where is the joy of speech?
Where is the one on one or group
conversations?
That face to face repartee, the beauty of
facial expressions, that lets you know
what their brain is concocting,
The short cuts of a beautiful language to
save time on the written. LOL, IDK,
AFK, and so on. What are the
repercussions?
Are we slowly lossing the ablilty to have
conversation?
Are we becoming shy and tongue tied,
from hiding behind our text and email?
What of our facial expressions, will they
be loss to a stone face robotic looking
human?
Will our tongue shrivel up and blow
away as dust does, will our gums evict
our teeth because of lack of caress from
our loss tongues?
And what of our hands, Will they
become thin and long with out nails,
each finger tip like a stylus, no feeling
just memory on where to go, what key to
depress?
I am from a world of the hand written
language, of face to face conversation,
no cell phones, no text, and no email.
For me, it is sad to say goodbye to
these things that were part of the fabric
of my life.
So hooray to progress, and the thief of
life!
For me, I think not.
