Forgiveness

Searching for myself
Beneath the rubble
of my former happiness,
Only to find
Where the broken hearted wanderer
Hides guilt filled tears,
As I wonder which shadow
Hides the child,
Quivering in fear of trust.

Understanding walks among us,
Kissing us upon our brows,
Giving wisdom
No one wants to own.

We do not desire
To know the weaknesses
of the human heart,
Or the strength of those
Who have broken
the strongest will,
Answers cannot give comfort
Cannot change the way we feel.

We ache for the arms of compassion,
For things lost to be restored,
Healing for the shattered heart,
Mending for a wounded soul.

Yet, even still...

That is not enough...

For the search continues,
As I look for that part of me
That is still buried,
And the wanderer searches
For peace and relief
From his many sorrows.

While the child sits waiting...

Hopefully...

For a light

That will vanquish

The shadows within us all.

I like this

Your verses show a very sensitive person! They are bright, profound and tender at the same time! I like them! I wish you to see soon again the light is waiting for you! I call it the God's light but anyone of us can call it in his own way! All the best! albix

only time

you have said it as well as anyone could, blue. i know as well as anybody, that the answers we are given do not give us comfort. only time can heal a broken heart. and then only if we are so tired of hurting that we will accept it at last. be still my heart. let me find peace! scars on my heart too! gee.
