strength in sickness
Never have i known a stronger man than he
with a strong body, strong spirit and will power to live,
it's hard to believe he has such a dreadful disease,
in a blink of an eye his life flashes before my eyes.
Remember the accident in '98
broke his finger and tore his ear out of its place,
stayed in hospital for so long coz he was in quite a state,
but granpa's a fighter, he got through just fine.
Do you recall that awful easter night,
thugs invaded his home, broke his windows, doors and took things he owned,
they beat him up almost broke his bones,
but granpa's a fighter he got through just fine.
now i stand looking in total disbelief,
can't believe his body is home to such a disease,
Leukemia, they say, cancer of the blood,
have to start treatment as soon as they can.
But there he is looking strong as always,
sharing words of hope with his beloved family,
doesn't matter what they say about this disease
my granpa's a fighter and he'll make it through just fine.
with a strong body, strong spirit and will power to live,
it's hard to believe he has such a dreadful disease,
in a blink of an eye his life flashes before my eyes.
