Love's Epiphany

The flame of love once lit

 is like a forest fire

 it spreads so fast

 without a pause

 and wakens all desire

 It is its own epiphany

 is master of your soul

 and only when its satisfied

it stays to make you whole.

You make me happy

Dear Julie that I can be the instigator of comfort, I see that you are a bee and seek the sweet honey from the flower. As you know I am not one sided sweet I am sure, but have been blessed with a happy disposition, something I have inherited and for which I am more than grateful, if I can spread this attitude to life, and the joy I feel within me, I am even more happy. If that could be called a religion in life that would be mine. I have a nasty cold at the moment and that is not comfortable, but it will go over. The day outside the window is grey, and quiet with the mist from the sun of yesterday that shone so hot that it has soaked up the snow like a diaphanous blanket, the trees are like beautiful pencil drawings in the void of the grey colour. Good morning in the grey of Spring from Ann

Hey, I LOVED that book, Which book would you memorise?

Hey, I LOVED that book, that'd be right! I even vaguely remember the film, each person was allocated a book to memorise, be rotten if you got a terrible book wouldn't it!!... I wonder what book you'd choose Ann, or you O'??? cheers Anni "Out beyond the ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I will meet you there. "The Book of Tea"

Written by Okakuro Kakutso, as the English is delicious, otherwise the poetry of Hans Borli, but wow what a lot to memorise, I would most likely choose one or two excerpts and leave it at that; after all we can, having digested their contents make poems about, or inspired by them, ourselves instead, and to create is THE THING! It would be a difficult choice as so many have just come fussing into my mind and want a chance to take part too! I would always want a book with a style that I liked to float along in, some crime stories, which do not interest me much anyway, are in such short cut sentences that one feels chopped up ( literally) while reading them! I always remember reading Osbert Sitwell's "Left Hand , Right Hand," where a sentence would go for almost a whole page, each time you thought you were coming to the end of it, like a Bach fugue, it would go on, and carrying you with it making coming to the end of the breath such a suspense and exciting! I like to experience literature, just as I experience nature and love, if you like. Glad you (plural) liked this funny little 'stubb', as the Norwegians say, yes it is intimate. I had the forest fires in mind Anni and thought that they awakened such powerful feelings, those fires, and love does just the same. It just came as a little thought, like one beautiful leaf on its journey from the tree to the ground, its lovely dance of life and death, where I stopped thinking. My love to you all, and may love find you too, Ann

Splendid-

short, lyrical and true. This captures my experience. I thought I was in love until, once, I really was in love - awakened to my partner, my self and life in general. I couldn't have sought it until I accidentally found it. Love was its own epiphany and a paradox, too.

Thank you Janice

This one you would like to experience, dear you, I hope its message can be felt and that I have given to you just a little, though more humble part, of love that you so long for, and doing so can send the message on to some fine 'swain' who feels the throb and doing so can fall in love with you. I wish it for you Janice, but do not try too hard, it comes unawares, the most powerful love I think, it is suddenly there and real and WONDERFUL. Your friend Ann

My dearest Ann,

congrats on a deserved spotlight! Short and sweet, and yet I sense a deeper level of meaning, that the all consuming fire of love can devour a person if their love is not reciprocated... Or is it just me? My own silly poem on this subject: Light a candle, leave a light on Wax is dripping on the floor Plip. Plop. The minutes melt away. You reach out and touch it Hypnotized by the warm glow Unable to restrain yourself And experience pain A reminder of the unconvenient truth That light is fire´s daughter And what is mild on the eyes Enticing you to reach for it Can burn your skin and melt your core So do not leave the lights burning Unless you want them to turn into An all consuming raging fire Yours, ~Nina

Your nice little poem,

Your nice little poem, though not littler than mine! I liked its candle, the flame flickering beside the bed of love, nice evocations it creates in the mind. You are also right that he flame of love can make us blind and foolish, bu,t if found, and of the purest nature the wholeness engendered is complete and all is bliss. Albeit perhaps the bliss of the moment which, if wise, we try to cultivate and make blossom to the fullness of understanding with those we choose to communicate in our most intimate manner in this life. Thank you for understanding me, for sending me a poem, I am honoured to receive and for, I suppose (?), helping me to a spotlight, you are all thanked for being here and joining my dance of life. As ever Ann of Norway

Oh I was looking for you

and didn't find you, only a mug of coffee! Where have you flown you weaver of strange and special poetry? But then you sound the trumpet and I hear your call, and I am flattered by you all. I did myself feel that it was very short but said it all. That's all. Thank you dear Orgami for your comment. Ann of Norway.

ahhhhh, Miss Ann of Norway

Who could think 9 little lines could have such impact? I dearly love this poem. Like its own raging fire, it spreads through the brain and allows us to remember our own infernos! :) I suppose after near 28 years of having my same man around, our flame has become... a bank of coals. Comfortable, cozy, but...still allowing for the fire to be fed and blaze. "it spreads so fast without a pause and wakens all desire" such passion in those simple words. Excellent, excellent, excellent! Always Sincere, Tonya

Montag the fireman (ferenheit 451)

I love your short poem Ann. and Oragami? I just finished watching that movie last night, actually it took three nights because I kept falling asleep. I'm an early bird. Burning love like a forest fire burning books because it's not good to "feel" anything I love reading all the comments and responses, everyone is so connected and sometimes we don't realize it. Poeple have such love to give and recieve back, I'm grateful for the love I do have in my life. Sincerely, Your Cathy
