Winter (A Tanka)

Winter (A Tanka)

Winter brings us snow
Icy flakes floating down
Covering the ground
Bringing joy to children
And misery to adults

*LOL* Double D.

A Tanka is specifically structured. Usually about nature. Count the number of syllables in each line and the number of lines. Nope not my usual. Only snow I have right now is my dandruff and graw hair. *LOL* Respectfully, Rett: "A Democracy can withstand anything but Democrats." Robert A. Oh no I LOVE the snow

The smell of it, the sound of it, the cool of it, the magic of it, the whiteness of it and we can use it to ski on, to build castles with, to make snowballs and lamps with, oh my! oh my! I am but a child am I not Rett? Respectfully of adults views , Ann I am not a Tanka specialist its probably dead right, well achieved.

*LOL* Sometimes the child in all of us

comes out Ann. I hate snow except in pictures. One of the biggest problems with it is the cold gets to my joints so bad. The other is the mess. *L* Respectfully, Rett: "A Democracy can withstand anything but Democrats." Robert A. Heinlein For the sake of children, read this. http://www.neopoet.com/node/19905

Thanks BC

I haven't seen any posted here and I haven't written one in a long long time so thought I'd see if I could still do it. Glad you got a kick out of it. Thanks! Thank you Janice

I appreciate it. Yeah, they are structured and non-rhyming and almost always about nature, but the rules have relaxed over the years and you tend to see them written about many things on the rare occasion you see one. Sorry about the snow *G* I didn't get any. he he he Respectfully, Rett: "A Democracy can withstand anything but Democrats." Robert A. Dry snow!

It has struck me as odd that the snow and cold temperatures in Norway, rarely reaching the extremes that they can in Canada, never seem to feel so cold, in the bones and muscles, as the damp wet Winters in Scotland; where I hung up a dress in the bathroom to dry and three days later it was just as wet, whereas in Norway it would be dry the next day specially in Winter. I rarely needed to wear a scarf here in the east as there is so very little wind, so all in all its drier here. The only drawback can be the drying of the nose, not so good. Oh but the magic of all the silent white is what I love. Ann of Norway
