Question Me Without Doubt

Question My Conviction It is not absolute
It is rather cut and Dry
I am God.
and of course you will not believe me
I appear as a mortal with no chariots and trumpets
even as you profess belief  in me
when you had no visual or  tangible evidence
I am God you will mock me for my proclamation
you are not significant in any way
I made you who you are
just like all the rest
so frail, and impressionable
please don't accept my word as absolute
I am pestered by those who do
some say they are crazy
I tend to agree
they want me to eliminate all there strife
then use me to gain an advantage
I am God now leave me alone
I have a card game to attend
with Satan, and Bast
or at least that's who they tell me they are

hmmmmmmmm....

Well, I suppose you are right. There are a lot of more important things He would be dealing with than petty squabbles of man. I read much more into 'the card game' tho. lol, i don't know if that was your intention or not. But ya know, i really like this poem. We should not take everything as face value, not be gullible.. not expect to have all our strife removed from life. If everything were always wonderful, there would be no appreciation for the times it is. I think our struggles, sorrows, happiness, accomplishments.. all bundled together is what makes life interesting. I think this is awesome! Well put, IKnowNoBox! I have no suggestions to improve an already great poem. Always Sincere, Tonya ...gonna have to check out more of your work, don't know why i am just finding it.

Thank you Tanya

The card game, and the verse "at least that is who they claim to be" addresses those who "worship " the opposite side of the same Coin. "I think our struggles, sorrows, happiness, accomplishments.. all bundled together is what makes life interesting." I heartly agree. In ink, Dabbler

i see

here a very appealing criticism of that one bane our faith has barely survived at times: biblical fundamentalism. "I made you who you are/just like all the rest so frail, and impressionable/please don’t accept my word as absolute.." awesome! GB

I read this in so many

I read this in so many different ways. With each reading I moved through different interpretations. I wss highly amused throughout, feeling a sense of superciliousness (not from you the writer, from God the speaker) and I'm afraid that, by the end of all my reads, I envisioned God playing cards with the devil and Bast in a nice clean white-washed room wearing a white straight-jacket. '...at least that’s who they tell me they are' brings to mind two others dressed in the same garb. I know from your above comments that this is not what you had in mind, but the interpretation of a work, according to, is it post-mdernism? my literary knowledge is very rusty, belongs to the reader once the author has relenquished the work. Loved it. Judy
