Full Circle

I, one time ate so much candy
and other such desirable delights,
that I truly believed I would have to swear off all future holidays.

It did not end my life, at that time
but I am convinced that, that amount of sugar is a giant killer,
and one should always use caution, when pretending to be a "giant".

I once laughed so hard with Mike Johannson,
that I had unintentionally made a "chocolate milk fountain"
out of what I now know, to be my sinus cavity.

It did not end my life, at that time
but I'd wager that the Mother Johannson
never again wore that much chocolate milk, in one sitting.

Another time, I wished and yearned for something so abnormally severely,
that I believed I'd made my request so well known that I'd receive it.
But on my birthday, I was no closer to obtaining my desire than I was to the moon.

It did not end my life at that time
but I'd venture to say that had my obsession been quenched,
I could, and probably would be less of a person, today.

For, these various things have led me "full circle", and down different avenues
They did not end my life, at those times
but the varying emotions, lessons, and pleasures.....had definitely began it.

Doc...

a reflective write we can all relate to... if... I always heard it was the biggest word in the English language and it is true... so many variations! I am not one of those people that have many regrets for things I've done... although there are things I wish I'd never done there are many more things I wish I'd tried... but I accept me as I've come full circle with myself and my own faults and my one or two virtues... thanks for posting this... loved the chocolate story! and the mystery birthday wish... Mr. Moonman....

...you must know, that I thoroughly enjoyed your kind comment, as I did Ms. Mari's. Having said that, you also must realize that, that "Mystery Birthday Wish", will remain just that; a "Mystery". smiles to you, both...from my heart. #{:>{)]@==== docmaverick.
