Millennial Monsters

Millennial MonstersBeasts of praiseWithout constant complimentsTheir resolve never stays They're the scourge Of this nationThey're the millennialGeneration They are wonderfulThey are greatWithout constant complimentsThey're always late I will never giveMy endorsementTo the constant useOf positive reinforcement In the parental worldThere is a schismSome believeWe shouldn't give criticism Constant complimentsMay be swellBut if you raise them like thatThey'll never excel

Michail...

How are ya doin? good to see you posting... I like this piece and agree with it... positive reinforcement is needed, but so is letting one know they've done the wrong thing... I'm an old fashioned kind of guy, of course I am old so duhhhh, right...! but anyway, I still believe in a good ol spanking when a child needs it... just a spanking... two or three good swacks across the hiney does wonders for attitudes and they grow up with a certain amount of respect for you if you do... but I've seen it the other way too... they grow up without respect for anyone, or at least some do. I guess I'm getting long-winded here... sorry... I liked your poem... I feel it is something that needs to be said. Richard
