Ampersand Honey reminiscing (Ode to the ampersand)

I really love an ampersand

So inclusive – and & and!

An offering, not hard demand

I really love that ampersand

The gorgeous curve & curl & flourish

Hooking more, sweet heart is nourished

Replace a “but”, (so less discouraged)

I really love the ampersand

My curly, curvy adding shape

They dangle in my hair, at nape

A swish, & not a care escape

My generous sweet ampersand

It’s quicker too, I know it’s crude

I don’t intend to seem so rude

It’s just there’s so much to include

& faster with my ampersand

I’ve come to love that ampersand

A habit maybe, grammar banned

Resistance I can understand

but there’s pleasure - shaping ampersands

I try to use them less when here

It’s far less couth in truth I fear

But truly I’m seduced, it’s clear

Such lovely curvy ampersand

Once I left my writing book

When practicing, new song, mistook

My music partner took a look

Among the curly ampersands

The duo was quite new & so

He read the line & then said “oh”

“Ampersand honey” (& “ho ho ho”)

That’s how we got our name
