Great Texas Skeeter Hunt
Great Texas Skeeter Hunt
There was a droning in the air
Like a thousand angry bees
But there wasn't anything
On the horizon, yet to see
We were ready for the fight
Checked our ammo and our guns
And sharpened up our knives
Gettin' ready for the fun
Just as we finished up
The blue sky turned to gray
It was like the sunshine
Had decided to go away
We knew the flight was here
When we heard the loud reports
The AA guns had opened up
At the other forts
Like a thousand screaming Stukas
Diving out of World War Two
They dove out of the sun,
There were more than just a few
We got ready for hand to hand
As we emptied the AA guns
Then we grabbed our rifles
And started firing on the run
We prevailed there in the end
And our casualties were few
Thanks to the timely intervention
Of Big Manny's size twenty shoe
Cautiously we looked about
At the thousands on the ground
Then started up the chainsaws
It made an eerie sound
We fired up the big old grills
And opened some cans of beer
Then grabbing up some legs
We started them to sear
So grab a hammer and some pliers
They're almighty hell to crack
After a taste of skeeter legs
We know you'll be coming back
Things are bigger out inTexas
Now I don't mean to gab
The best thing 'bout skeeter legs
Is they're bigger than snow crab
There's no limit on your kill
So set your gun to smokin'
Come visit us here in Texas
When skeeter season's open
Oh, there's danger in the hunt
But you can always fill your sack
Just be careful good folks
Texas skeeters will fight back
There are some hardy folks
That are crazy don't you know
They go Skeeter hunting
With just a compound bow!
Now people would I lie to you?
I'm a Texan in the know?
And there's not many people
That you can really snow.
Don't anybody have a fit
I just want to shed some light
If us Texans were meant to ski,
Bullshit would be white.
Some Texans are unsavory charactoers prone to telling tall tales about the size of Texas Mosquitos, but I assure you, this is true.. Ahem, really. Would I lie to you? *G*
