Great Texas Skeeter Hunt

Great Texas Skeeter Hunt

There was a droning in the air
Like a thousand angry bees
But there wasn't anything
On the horizon, yet to see

We were ready for the fight
Checked our ammo and our guns
And sharpened up our knives
Gettin' ready for the fun

Just as we finished up
The blue sky turned to gray
It was like the sunshine
Had decided to go away

We knew the flight was here
When we heard the loud reports
The AA guns had opened up
At the other forts

Like a thousand screaming Stukas
Diving out of World War Two
They dove out of the sun,
There were more than just a few

We got ready for hand to hand
As we emptied the AA guns
Then we grabbed our rifles
And started firing on the run

We prevailed there in the end
And our casualties were few
Thanks to the timely intervention
Of Big Manny's size twenty shoe

Cautiously we looked about
At the thousands on the ground
Then started up the chainsaws
It made an eerie sound

We fired up the big old grills
And opened some cans of beer
Then grabbing up some legs
We started them to sear

So grab a hammer and some pliers
They're almighty hell to crack
After a taste of skeeter legs
We know you'll be coming back

Things are bigger out inTexas
Now I don't mean to gab
The best thing 'bout skeeter legs
Is they're bigger than snow crab

There's no limit on your kill
So set your gun to smokin'
Come visit us here in Texas
When skeeter season's open

Oh, there's danger in the hunt
But you can always fill your sack
Just be careful good folks
Texas skeeters will fight back

There are some hardy folks
That are crazy don't you know
They go Skeeter hunting
With just a compound bow!

Now people would I lie to you?
I'm a Texan in the know?
And there's not many people
That you can really snow.

Don't anybody have a fit
I just want to shed some light
If us Texans were meant to ski,
Bullshit would be white.

Some Texans are unsavory charactoers prone to telling tall tales about the size of Texas Mosquitos, but I assure you, this is true.. Ahem, really. Would I lie to you? *G*

Yee haw Gee

Well last I heard, ya take about 10 gallons of Tabasco Sauce, add two pounds of fresh Jalapeno Peppers, (chopped) to a keg of beer and 5 cases of Mayonaise (the one gallon buckets), and it makes a right good sauce for them little fellers y'all catch up there. Sounds like there are a few of those unsavory characters up that way that stretch the truth a might also. *ROFLMAO* Thanks Gee, you made my day! *ROFLMAO* Oh, I was just talking about the little ones

When the big ones get in, they tend to carry you off car and all. At least that's what I heard. *LOL* Respectfully, Rett: "A Democracy can withstand anything but Democrats." Robert A. Heinlein For the sake of children, read this. http://www.neopoet.com/node/19905

So here's the real question, Rett: buckshot, birdshot, or sabot slug? Ahhh... so much ammo, so little time. Actually, you know what would work? Fill up your mouth with a strong alcohol, and then spray mist on a stick that's on fire so that there's a flame burst. Aim it towards the skeeter cloud, and now there's no need to BBQ 'em afterward! ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"The truth is, it doesn't matter what you do. Hey, that's an idea

Most likely that would just singe their wings and make them mad though. *LOL* Sometimes I'm so full of it huh? Respectfully, Rett: "A Democracy can withstand anything but Democrats." Robert A. Heinlein For the sake of children, read this. http://www.neopoet.com/node/19905

He he he! Now would I stretch the truth?

Surely you don't think I would do that? *ROTFLMAO* Glad you got a laugh out of it. Now of course, I never did tell you about ole Pecos Bill and how he once roped a tornado and rode it did I? Of course, there was his one true love Sluefoot Sue. He met her when she was riding a catfish down the Rio Grande, but, she was tame compared to Bill. *G* Respectfully, Rett: "A Democracy can withstand anything but Democrats." Robert A. I'm goin to snow you Rett

.........dRove out of the sun? Not sure. OOO I don't like hunting and shooting, some weird thoughts here but fully in keeping with the uncomfortable subject, it rollicks along at a the shot of a gun. I have my hands in the air, as well as those of the skeeter. Respectfully Ann of Norway

I don't mind hunting if it's for food

I am not much on sport hunting, trophy hunting I should say. Killing for sport. As for dove, past tense of dive, they dive or they dove. But Mosquitoes are open season. Bloodthirsty females (only the female bites and sucks blood, they need it to reproduce). The male Mosquito lives on plant sap. Skeeter is the slang term for Mosquito. Ummm, I think this is a Texas tall tail, but it sure made for fun reading. Personally, I'm looking for big foot. Don't know what I'm going to do when I catch him. Linda

*LOL* now would I stretch the truth Linda?

As for big foot, he should be good for changing light bulbs, cleaning out the gutters and stomping bugs. Plus, should be easy to rearrange the living room with him about. You might not be able to afford his shoes though. *G* Respectfully, Rett: "A Democracy can withstand anything but Democrats." Robert A.
