Sunset Over Dawn
I searched the skies, the other day
and witnessed a blinding awe,
for it was during the daytime's brightness.
At last, my eyes could spy the evening,
and again, I mingled with my awe,
and felt the grace that heaven gave the evening.
I will admit, that I had sorely missed the pleasure that was the dawn;
but it was the tints and hues of the evening
that rested my anxious heart, so completely.
It's not really, that I prefer night over day,
it's just that the evening slumber of the sky and it's hues
greatly rests my soul completely.
I pause in reverence, to the blueness of night's young sky,
because, tomorrow will surely try and erase the night's skies;
but that, will be only temporary;
because I will forever know in my heart,
that my sunsets will always exceed the colors of the dawn;
because forever, my precious sunsets will remind my heart..........of only you.
and witnessed a blinding awe,
for it was during the daytime's brightness.
At last, my eyes could spy the evening,
and again, I mingled with my awe,
and felt the grace that heaven gave the evening.
I will admit, that I had sorely missed the pleasure that was the dawn;
but it was the tints and hues of the evening
that rested my anxious heart, so completely.
It's not really, that I prefer night over day,
it's just that the evening slumber of the sky and it's hues
greatly rests my soul completely.
I pause in reverence, to the blueness of night's young sky,
because, tomorrow will surely try and erase the night's skies;
but that, will be only temporary;
because I will forever know in my heart,
that my sunsets will always exceed the colors of the dawn;
because forever, my precious sunsets will remind my heart..........of only you.
