Frailties and fatalities

The sun shines on the meadow of the night

While German war films roar and rise

With music of patriotism and glory.

In the dark of the night outside the window

The birds find their resting places in the branches

Flowers think of Spring deep in the earth

And stars shine their signals into the black of the sky.

Do we really want to watch the carnage

Of human frailties and fatalities?

Are we here to dwell on the absurdity of ourselves?

Why use the short span of time allotted

In self pain and misery with visions

Of things uncomfortable, unforgettable,

Gruesome -  and not of what makes

Us happy fulfilled and creative.

Or is that so banal that we have lost

The wish to see our simple day and its pastimes

As the worth our little world has waiting for our participation?

The tree, the wood, the lake, the present

Now all fulfilling its Being,

Its existence, its sounds, its smells, its rhythms of

Living in this so little world called earth.

Another beautiful write,

Another beautiful write, Ann. Wars roaring and humans dieing...what a world we live in eh? craziness. Deep pondering, here tho, as to humanity... Do we really want to watch the carnage Of human frailties and fatalities? Are we here to dwell on the absurdity of ourselves? Makes you wonder how deep our hearts really are.. Peace and Love katie

So THAT'S what it is!

Is that why when I went to visit a 17 year old girl she had a CD on, she was talking to three boyfriends, she was doing her homework, the TV was on, I took one look and decided I had better come back some other time to talk with her!!!!! It turned out that she couldn't concentrate without these other things going on at the same time. How sad not to be able to be silent and contemplate the silence with no subject, just exist, that can be a beautiful feeling too, then your silent thunder would be roaring and you could cut that out too, but then the modern child doesn't know that, he has continuous sound and are all EXPECTED to like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The SILENT thunder, wow, when it is silent I would think it was sultry and smouldering, but I suppose I could imagine what you mean. I hear all and if the birds sing I listen to their song too. I am distracted by the gunfire and dramatic music, as you know we live, in Oslo, in one room, there is no getting away from it, I tried some earplugs but my hearing is unfortunately good and I hear it all anyway, so I have to turn to another ploy- that of persuading subconsciously, my mind to cut out the background sound, this I can do up to a point, but if the sound is too high I cannot. At least the TV is big enough to have its back to me, its a 40 inch, or something, widescreen one as 'he' is keen on films. Ach wheel one has to put up with this and that in life? Thank you for commenting wcw. Ann of Norway
