What it's In
You've heard the phrase, "It's in your blood..."
well, I could venture to say, "that's not one of my phrases...".
But, I write this because, someone I know mentioned it,
and spoke of it, in a sentence...the other day.
It's haunted me ever since,
because it keeps me wonderin', what's in MY blood?
More importantly, how does one know?
After all, there's no "blood-ometer", or guage.
I've heard it said,"It's in your genes".
But, that only clarifies, to whom you'd give either the credit or the blame.
But, I still want to know what's in my blood!
In other words, what is my "make-up"?
After exhausting every possible angle of investigative tests,
it appears as though I can only conclude one thing...
..I know only what is NOT in my blood!
Which is important in a totally different way.
The correct word is, "propensity".
It's a word that predicts which way you'd lean towards,
in a given situation,
and, that's all that I can share.
It's not what's in my blood...OR what's in my genes,
for these two questions pale in comparison,
to the question that is the "center of my table",
and the "focus of my universe"...
quite simply, what makes me "tick".
It's what is in my.....heart.
well, I could venture to say, "that's not one of my phrases...".
But, I write this because, someone I know mentioned it,
