After...

The world was veering off its course
stars were tumbling from the sky
the moon for once outshone the sun
as Mother Earth hummed her soft lullaby

While the dawn was caressing the horizon
I was resting in the sound of your heartbeat
your warm limbs, the solidity of your body
as the universe held its breath for mere seconds

When the sun claimed its rightful place again
we awoke from our fervent dreaming
painfully being reborn to the real world
as ravens' wings fluttered in the breeze

you lost me when you stopped the rhyme. i had to go back and see the title before i could make sense of what you were saying. if you rhyme, it is alright to stop the rhyme without breaking the rythym. but don't break it within. at least it is my own humble opinion. great title, [it brought me back] language very nice, same for beginning and end. good work! keep on keeping on, gee.

Hi Geezer,

I never knew there was a rhyme, I only ever realized that after reading your comment. Strange tricks my brain plays on me... Thank you for your thoughtful comment that made me find out something new about this piece! Yours, ~Nina

Julie,

thanks for giving a blind hen another option. I had already started to think of rhyming the whole piece, but of course, I could just kick the rhyme out as well. But not sure yet, somehow I like the fact that it rhymes without being meant to rhyme... Yours, ~Nina

beautiful dream poem

I never thought about german culture being goth until I listened to Rammstein after falling in Love with their song "Amerika" and loving the video (they are hard rock but with some soft ballads) I read the lyrics as they are translated to english in some videos on U Tube and I knew or know German people to me they were freindly knowing natives from books by Karl May "Winnatou" but yes the deep intellectual thought base produced at the turn of the century is profound and gothic Love your poem

Orgami,

I love your comment, many thanks! But I must say that not all Germans are Goths. Just I and most of my friends are a tad on the "dark" side...But we do have a flourishing Goth culture here, that´s true. Loved your "Hunger" poem very much, too, and am just on my way to a reread. Yours, ~Nina

A beautiful sleep

And the warm sun claiming its rightful place, very subtle and yet real and so warm that I can feel it suddenly on my body as if it were I who had experienced the strangely wonderful night. I love the contrasts here, the beginning wildly tumbling images at me, the calming of dawn with the hidden heart beats and the shock of reality, day, arriving with a flood of light. A nice sequence of thoughts, memories of an experience that I hope you have had as it would be worth the keeping. Sleep well tonight dear Nina from Ann

Nina The gentle melody flows like a river all through this awesome poem. Stars tumbling - earths gentle lullaby - sweet caresses. listening to the metronome of natures heartbeat. The way you entwine the elements with the heavens and contents within also the feelings of how we are moved so by their colors and the emotions. You have created a beautiful scene it is so real to me. I love the moon and stars morning noon and night nature so sublime As Raven wings flutter in the breeze - WoW Just seeing the first few lines I was hooked had to read and re read this amazing poem. The moon

missing tonight but watched a satellitte gleaming streaming slow across the arc the sunset far gone around the earth but its rays shinning high to catch the movement of this machine delighted I watched it then it faded as it fell into our shadow I didnt mean all germans are goth I mean there is this very intriquing underlying cultural understanding about nature and elements and spiritualism that hangs onto to something ancient I know nothing about it though and my german freinds were more interested in me finding out on my own rather then spoiling it Like that Totensonntag day for the elders who are gone benches picnics gathering music I went back to my reserve but it was at a trying time But I did get adopted by a family of traditionals and helped build a sweat lodge and we did a drumming ceremony and I carved a shaker In our culture the moon is female I just know spirits are out there in the forest when I went crazy I could feel them the river the water is alive I know this Im too old and fat to be a goth and I tan well if I get lots of sun but the whole idea of wings and darkness and blood and stuff is interesting Rammstein lyrics I think are cool and I dont even know the name of the lead singer their videos rock I think Lori knows more about him he was an olympic swimmer thats it I know there are mountians in Germany and the black forest and the lowlands and the ocean blurry my view is though Hansel and Gretel the ice queen etc storybooks from childhood at any rate I love your poetry I love the moon just up around the corner a few paces up a street I can see the lake view and the sky view beautiful without too many streetlights so I dont have to suffer its magnificent and Im glad you like THE HUNGER yah some crazy thing inside that drives that consumes more then anything beyond description even

My dear Orgami,

I don´t know if this spiritual connection with the elements is a German thing. When I read your comments and your poetry, I can´t help thinking that it is a universal thing. Maybe we poets/artists all have it? I can feel it in Electric Blue´s writing, too, or in Ann´s and kailashana´s (and I apologize to all the people I may have forgotten to mention)... Yours, ~Nina

Yes poets seem to have this

and all the names you mentioned and the ones missed they too have this its all here the love of what is sensitive I walk everywhere some days and feel the sky above see the planes coming in the jets high up there the birds wheeling in their numbers and at night the aurora behind the street lights faint though it is our secret glades our trees we think under our rocks we sit on our beachs we go to the land we walk its all here in our poems as you say forgive me for focusing on just the nationality its just something new to me lately to look at something I enjoy thank you
