LIKE A PRISM

Lord, what is wrong with me, I asked
You don't listen, He gently whispers back
I know, My mind scatters like a prism
Through a pane of shattered glass
So many colors, so many distractions

Makes it hard  to see the narrow path
Look upon my face, I shall be your way
Listen to my words, they shall be your guide
Fear not the dark, for I shall be your light

Rain, then Holy Spirit, down upon my soul
Let it bloom like the rose
In the summer sun of June
Fill my heart with music
From the Master's violin

Fill me up with love that spilleth from my lips
That I may speak with angel's tongues
With prayers that rise up sweet
Like incense to Your holy feet

Beautifully writte Linda

As intended, a wonderful prayer. I enjoyed it a lot. Respectfully, Rett: "Next time you think you're perfect, walk on water." "A Democracy can withstand anything but Democrats." Robert A. Heinlein

Like A Prism

Linda, Prism's are one of my favorite things that brighten up my world, and I have often thought of writing a poem about them, but have never gotten around to doing it yet. I loved this piece of yours. ______________________________________________________ Income-tax forms should be more realistic by allowing the taxpayer to list "Uncle Sam" as a dependent Anonymous

Sally Supper

Child came for March Break had time from work broke so I went to the supper and saw the humble salt of the earth gathered at the doors the sunlight of afternoon falling six oclock was sitting in the basement hall looking up through the windows and staring into the reflected sun from a window there the light is bright and white to us who can see but its really many colours so how blind does that make us in wavelength time and saw the tree beyond thinking of the root the trunk the limbs the farthest branchs and tiny buds at the tips the wind gentle when I see I see his beauty when I close my eyes I hear his voice when I am cold I can feel his love when I am in darkness I am alone knowing that i must reach out this poem delved into me deeply I had read it earlier was thinking about the prism aspect this evening and after your kind request for comments or stars I have come back to re read it again
