Sonnet For War
When did noise wreak havoc on sanity?Like a thousand flutes played out of tune
In high notes to bring 'bout calamity
Perhaps it'll not be long before doomTo a war-torn country across the sea
Where love is a dream most consider vile
Here, most people choose who they want to be
Unknowing, we fret about the color of tile
Our congress argues mortality, why?For a war barely no one supports
They bomb innocents and children cry
They shoot the fathers for smart-alik retorts
Confined to this, I wonder how they feel
These children's nightmares must seem very real
In high notes to bring 'bout calamity
Perhaps it'll not be long before doomTo a war-torn country across the sea
Where love is a dream most consider vile
Here, most people choose who they want to be
Unknowing, we fret about the color of tile
Our congress argues mortality, why?For a war barely no one supports
They bomb innocents and children cry
They shoot the fathers for smart-alik retorts
Confined to this, I wonder how they feel
These children's nightmares must seem very real
