Through Psyche's Eyes #6-Unpleasant Medicine

My voice was heard
Actions seen,
Ceres took pity on me
When she saw my piety.

Advising me
In the next step
That my feet should take...

Voluntary surrender,
Modest submission,
In order to gain forgiveness
From the goddess of "love".

How bitter those words are in my mouth.

For how much of my pride must I swallow
In my pursuit of you,
Before I choke on the taste of it all?

the reality

the reality is that it may take a few days, half-lifetime, or almost all, maybe never..... but hope springs eternal in each and every heart. never lower your expectations in pursuit of love because you will only disappoint yourself. i know that i may not be the best at this thing called love, but i think that i do have the experience of a two time loser and seem to be doing o.k. in my 3d bout. caught the longing so powerfully that i had to go back and read it again. brought out the addiction to cupids' arrows in me. like a habit that can't be shaken. must be the sweetness in my veins.
