Does patience pay?

Does patience pay a dividend,
would it pay out today,
when you've waited for so long,
for things to go your way,
when you've hoped against all hopes,
and borne the cost of pain,
does patience pay a dividend,
or do i need patience once again.

Will my ship come in i ask you,
will my ship come in some day,
to carry on regardless,
and hope things go my way,
when you see all those around you,
living so carefree,
will patience pay a dividend
will it pay out for me.

Is there light at the end of the tunnel,
is there  a lantern to light the way,
to see me through the darkness,
turn my night to day,
will my feet become like hind's feet,
and leap with joy unbound,
turn sorrow into dancing,
and stand on solid ground.

Does God care i ask you,
does he care atall,
his world is so very big,
and mine is just so small,
or is he just too busy
or do these things take time,
for my questions to be answered
and all my wants be mine.

I guess he's not a wizard,
who waves his magic hand,
to change my circumstances,
that i might live so grand,
do i saddle him with burdens,
i know his word is true,
and tie his hands behind his back,
there must be something i can do.

He says he's not too far away
and never will he leave,
he will see me through the troubles
if only i would cleave,
to his word and to his ways
all is possible just believe
you never know if he has'nt got
something up his sleeve.

Big Alzer

A very good flowing piece, and I do hope that you find those things that you are loking for, maybe just a peep inside yourself and a realization of what you really have, will do the trick, if it's you that is in this poem ??? If not it's still good and well done there, Yours Ian.T

many thanks

Hi Ian thanks for your comments yes some of this is me at a time many years ago. the great thing about getting older is the wisdom of experience. Things that are so important to a person during their youth, are much less important as you mature in years. I hope that like a good wine i've mellowed with age. thanks again for the comments.
