"taxi-man"

my lemon taxi, glides in towns' night,
the  radio softly, amid traffics' lights.

eating up smiles,
some are without.

chewing the miles,
spitting them out.

thanks for my tip,  nice mr. drunk.
don't give me lip, bags in the trunk.

the whirl of cop lights passing me by,
drenched young lady, catching my eye.

round trip now, he's getting some beer,
having a row, can't show my fear.

jokes.... he's  a nice guy, oh yes , i am!
bags and old ladies, give them a hand.

it's cash in the jeans, feelin' real good.
watch out, whats up? in cruisin' the hood.

windows down low,sitting 'long side,
me and "small joe", sharing our  ride.

train-crew to go.... great, a long haul,
get myself straight, away from the mall.

one rail-man is snoring, in the back of the van,
the sky is pouring, says elder, grey man.

fill her up "gee,"  bring her on in.
here 'ya are bobby, 'couple of fins'.

the nights' all done, and man... so am i,
here comes the sun, bluing the sky.

I enjoyed this one

I usually am not big on rhyming poems but it worked out well with this one, Geez. You did a good job of creating imagery with your words and I particularly liked the vocab that you used in this - created a unique feel to it.

hi Geezer

i love the rhyme on this one, and a graphic picture of a night as a taxi driver. very vivid like watching a film. Almost like sitting in the back seat being driven around hearing the sound, and the smells. Good stuff Geezer. kind regards Alzer.
