Safe Away
"SAFE AWAY" ANN
Safe away from probing eyes
Where I may love you as I will
Without a difficult disguise
What joys you give me still.
The rain pelts down upon the lake
The thunder roars and shoots
Its coloured lights of burning fire
To wetten all the roots.
Green Summer smiles and grows afresh
Laughing at our fears
The water rushes, gushes, flows
A music to the ears.
Oh! Poetry you come again!
When all, I thought was dead
Because of love you blossom forth
And joy spins in my head.
If I can dikt it must be badly
I have caught the love-sick ill
For I can dance with words quite madly
Catch them at my will.
