The Crocuses Are Coming (a triolet)

the crocuses are coming
soon to burst in colors bright
slender green leaves rising
the crocuses are coming
first to flower in spring's warm light
thick carpets of yellow, purple and white
the crocuses are coming
soon to burst in colors bright

The Crocuses

I love the spring and flowers it brings. Hope you don't mind: Line 3 needs to rhyme with the first line line 6 needs to rhyme with line two [ maybe switch purple and white?] liked this Triolet! ______________________________________________________ Income-tax forms should be more realistic by allowing the taxpayer to list "Uncle Sam" as a dependent Anonymous

Bursting with Spring

I can see the brilliant yellow, the crocuses opening as I write and their perfume thrills as does the poem's brightness. Ann of Norway.

Thanks Ann

Crocuses are my favorite bulbs, the very first in my garden to raise their lovely colors up out of winter's old age. They herald a swath of color in my bulb beds that will last now until the first frost of next winter finally browns the chrysanthemums, and I bed everything down again for another year. Glad you liked my little triolet Respectfully Jim "Laws and rules don't kill freedom: narrow-minded intolerance does" : Race
