Earth boys are easy

You Like That !... she asked,
I do
Yes I Do.

She was talking about the
silly show on television
and I was talking about how
sexy the grumpy looked on her,
...and we both knew.

I take a finger and trace
the outline of her shapeliness
and she gives me that low
animal groan

in response, I close my eyes
to savor the moment...
and she grabs the remote and runs!

Ha!

Richard, you know what they say

Men and the remote will never part. Hell, I seldome get to look at mine! My wife has almost total control except in football season, then it is MINE! Muahhahahahahahahahahah! I tape it to my hand and threaten her with throwing away all her chocolate if she bothers me for less than a life and death emergency! Earth Girls are NOT easy! Anyway, got a kick out of this one! Hey...

It is the same here... she has the remote all the time unless there is something I absolutely insist on seeing... but for most of my stuff, I just dvr it and watch it when she's not here... and I thought it was only my house... glad I'm not alone. Richard

*LOL* yep

I watch one program monday through friday on the western channel.. the old "Cheyenne" series at 4:00 Pm CST. The rest of the time mine are DVR'ed as you say and I watch in the morning before she gets up. Respectfully, Rett: "Next time you think you're perfect, walk on water." Poor Richard....

You know how to solve this, right?? Get one of those universal remotes that will work with your TV, and hide it. That way when she turns a program on, you get your remote and turn it back to your program. Prepare to get smacked, or get the evil eye, though... And yes, I've used this tactic. It works..kinda.. ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"All day and night music, a quiet, bright reedsong. If it fades, we fade." - Rumi

Zarul...

so glad you stopped in to check it out, this one may not be as internationally felt as some... this was just playing between my wife and I... her using my weakness for her to get what she wanted... the remote control to the t.v. Earth boys... no, it wasn't a show but there was a movie called earth girls are easy... it was just a play on words... hope this helped... Richard

thank you for commenting... it was just a playful moment between my wife and I, her using her knowledge of me being the man I am to get the remote and laughing about it... Richard

D.D.

glad you got some rest and was even more happy to see you came back... Cultures everywhere are different than here, and even here in some places a poem like this would be considered to risqué for some... We have to take that in account when writing for a worldly audience... thanks for coming back... Richard

Affection under pretense,

if one must be fooled, then such is the preferred case scenario. Perhaps it is not all about control. It is all about how negotiable control is. In ink, Dabbler

Huh?

How could this piece be confusing or misunderstood (by anyone)? Am I missing something? I like the play of "earth boys." Could surmise that perhaps boys on other planets just might not be as gullible. Or perhaps evolution works the same on every life-supporting world. I.e., perhaps evolution creates the same result. (I happen to think it does.) Earth boys (i.e. men, in particular human men) are prob'ly not the only earth life form that's so easily manipulated by the other sex. In fact, I'm sure of it. It's all a part of the big plan. That is, the big plan thought up by an obviously feminine God. If there is a God. Or even a god. Er, I mean Goddess/goddess (What's the matter with me?). Thanx, Chuck

Hi Chuck...

always good to see you on my pages, and I agree with you, the female species is definitely the stronger sex in life as we know it and probably throughout the universe as well. thanks Richard

Cats

may just figure the remote out one day... they are amazing animals... I had one that would knock on the door... I had a screen door without a spring and that cat would pull the door open a bit, just enough for it to bounce of the frame a couple of times... I am still amazed at that feat and it has been at least twenty years ago... Richard
