B

why do i bother

In fractures, i assemble myself on the doorstep
Unknowingly unwilling to forget, previous events
Exploding violently, as does a forgotten landmine
Inside this mind of mine

This night passed killed me
Well at the very least nearly
Two barfights three bars
Too many drinks, Not enough women
So confronted with the scythe of death, i ask
Why do I bother?
Low self esteem, turned into figurative mutilation.

Bloke...

I like the way you write... there is an honest down to earth quality that omits from your words... very appealing to me... Why do I bother is a question everyone ends up asking themselves sooner or later.... liked the poem, thanks for posting! Richard

cheers

thanks richard, your praise means a lot to me as i hold you in high regard as a poet. and yes the fact it is asked sooner or later is what gave me the idea for writing the poem. it comes from a time just yesterday, when i arrived home at my door and barely recognised where i was. an inspiring moment i thought had to be written down. brent

this was painful to read

I wonder what it's like when someone gets close to the bottom, what it's like in their mind, their emotional and mental state. You gave this that edge, and did it eloquently yet with the rough style that I have come to appreciate from you. Mark W. thank you

thanks mark, and yeah i write from the heart as raw as i can. i've been on the bottom, and to be honest it feels good to get praise when writing with your heart bleeding on your sleeve. cheers, brent
