Through Psyche's Eyes #4 - Exposed
EXPOSED
You hover so far above me
In the darkened heavens
So distant from my touch,
As my eyes search out yours
From among the sparkling stars,
For you once again are invisible to me.
As you once were,
Before my light exposed you,
Removing the shadows
From your gentle, sleeping face
As the oil betrayed my indiscretion,
Awakening you,
To my illuminated doubts and mistrust.
Your eyes met mine
And seeing the thoughts
Within the light of flickering flames,
You then fled from me into the night,
"For Love cannot dwell with suspicion"
You said as you spread
moonlit wings,
Leaving me fallen.........
in the dust of my shame.
You hover so far above me
In the darkened heavens
So distant from my touch,
As my eyes search out yours
From among the sparkling stars,
For you once again are invisible to me.
As you once were,
Before my light exposed you,
Removing the shadows
From your gentle, sleeping face
As the oil betrayed my indiscretion,
Awakening you,
To my illuminated doubts and mistrust.
Your eyes met mine
And seeing the thoughts
Within the light of flickering flames,
You then fled from me into the night,
"For Love cannot dwell with suspicion"
You said as you spread
moonlit wings,
Leaving me fallen.........
in the dust of my shame.
