Through Psyche's Eyes #4 - Exposed

EXPOSED

You hover so far above me
In the darkened heavens
So distant from my touch,
As my eyes search out yours
From among the sparkling stars,
For you once again are invisible to me.

As you once were,
Before my light exposed you,
Removing the shadows
From your gentle, sleeping face
As the oil betrayed my indiscretion,
Awakening you,
To my illuminated doubts and mistrust.

Your eyes met mine
And seeing the thoughts
Within the light of flickering flames,
You then fled from me into the night,
"For Love cannot dwell with suspicion"
You said as you spread
moonlit wings,

Leaving me fallen.........

in the dust of my shame.

Little Blue

A sad but lovely write, there seems to be a need in this poetry site for a space that says Fact or Fiction, as there are a lot of poems that are written from the hearts experiences, and some just straight imagination, but even those have a grounding in the way a person has been throughout their life. This one I will take as fiction lined with a little loss of someone, to bring out these thoughts in one, means that it is a very good write, I will say no more, bar hope you are ok now LOL ????? Yours, Ian.T

Forgot my note at the bottom

This is #4 in a series of 10 that I wrote in reference to the myth of Cupid & Psyche. Yes - this one is fiction. ;-) But you could say I used past experiences to help me write it! hahaha lol
