I Walk

                                            I walk with honor.
                                             I walk with pride.
                                     I march on with courage,
                                        my sword at my side.

                                          I step with no pain.
                                       I move on without fear.
                                    My eyes have no sadness.
They will shed not one tear.

                                  My feet trek without swagger,
                                      as storms rip overhead.
                                     My stride has no ceasing.
I will rest when I am dead.

So on day or cold night,
                                         I trod places unseen.
                                        I push onward to fight...
                                            I am a U.S Marine.

You are welcome,Lya.

What was a hurried writing became something I could not be more prouder to have written.I am glad you loved this poem.I published this poem on Poetry.com,and if you go there, you can actually buy the book that my poem is in.When you search for me,type my full name,JAMES SCOTT WEBB. I thought about approaching the United States Marine Corps with this poem.I wonder what they would say?......... Tell your brothers that i hope they like it. Read my other poems and tell me what you think of them, okay? Your friend,in peace, Scott.

This is excellent. You've summed up the life of a marine very nicely and succiently (did I spell that right?) Well done. ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"All day and night music, a quiet, bright reedsong. If it fades, we fade." - Rumi
