Not a Gamble, Really.

Too many times have I said to myself
'cept for Murphy's Law...things never go "bad",
then, I've found myself in a Dipsy Dumpster
minus everything that I've ever had!

The luck of the Irish isn't all that great,
one might as well have all the luck of a spoon,
what with all of their pots-a-gold, why aren't they all rich?
instead of drunkingly singing an Irish tune.

Thanking your "lucky stars", can only happen at night
so, just what could one possibly say,
about all of those winners at the casinos, and such
where they only win during the day.

And really, if horseshoes were absolutely "lucky"
then why can't someone tell me who I should put my money on?
for, down at the track it happens time after time
where my "nag" runs like an ancient Mastadon!

Numerology is "bogus", and so are horroscopes...too;
just when will the gamblers in us, see?
we we need to focus on each other, and put the Tarot cards down;
there's really no "gamble", when betting on yourself and on me!

Hi Doc

Am in the lonely poems club again so "What's up Doc", don't they like your piece here, well you made it hard to read and I felt so sorry for you not being lucky, and not believeing in all those lucky things,a good few words though for the ones that rely on luck and not their own judgement, anyway I digress or di something. The theme was good but I found it hard to read maybe it needs the bright light of Rio, Yours Ian.T PS:- now I am going to seek out your other poems in here LOL.
