Violent Subtleties
I might have stayed
if you hadn't
crushed my spirit,
misinterpreted everything
I ever said,
disrespected my mind and my ideas,
never understood my spirituality
or your own anger.
You, with your subtle violences,
silencing my soul,
refusing to widen
your own horizon.
Never believing
there was anything
i might teach you.
You, with your violent subtleties,
never aware of how
much you hurt me,
never allowing yourself
to really know me,
never accepting the love
I believed in
could really exist.
