Driving In The Snow (a haiku)

Blinding white swirling
fat flakes go 'splat' on windshield
wish winter would go!

You think winter is a thorn in YOUR side?..........

While your haiku makes a very funny point, and i liked it by the way,i have to say something.I should be the one wanting winter to pack its bags the most, and heres why:I live in Kentucky, and if you have watched the news lately,my state has just gotten over the most damaging ice storm in its history. While the lights in my house were only off for less than four hours....608,000 residents were not so lucky. Many have waited for more than two weeks for their power to return, and even in my own town, there has been Red Cross workers helping with emergency shelters, not to mention the National Guard, and FEMA visiting half the state to clear downed power lines, and offer medical help.Lastly, the state has suffered 8 deaths from the storm.I know this is not the happiest comment in the world, but old man winter showed me and the bluegrass state another side to himself this year. I still love winter, though. It has its good side. And i know you know that. Your friend,in peace, Scott.

Thanks, all!

The north-east can be expecially cruel in the winter. Fortunately, Janice, I don't live in upstate or western NY. Out towards Buffalo they get major weather coming off the lakes there, and get feet worth of snow. Thanks for the comments. ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"Three things that take forever to get here: birthday, Christmas, and the pizza delivery boy." - Garfield the Cat

I´ve bought me a flower today, to make me feel like spring is here to come! Jess, this is really great, you should write more Japanese poetry, you seem to have a knack for it! Yours, ~Nina

Amen sister!

although the snowflakes this season have seemed far fatter and more scenic than post years. It is nearly 50 today, so a nice respite. Only 4 weeks of winter left! Mark W. "our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers." 1 Timothy 4:10
