To kneel before the potency of truth

You lick your lips and you should know the sweetness you anticipate

You sweep your hair across the surface softly falling flames and wait

You run your hungry fingers through the gorgeous clouds

with every cell divine

and all of this is mine

I’ll sing this

all of this is mine

in gratitude and generosity

and you could be with me

here’s something you could see

Learning to love you

all of this is mine.

You pull apart the danger zone and touch the heart of challenge at its core

You hold the warmest candle and you search each soul for so much more

You kiss the fall of circumstance and welcome every contact you entwine

and all of this is mine

You reach across the distance to penetrate the dreams to loves sweet lashes

and time and time again you fall into the frey of lust that soothes and thrashes

You reverently kneel before the potency of truth and bless the sign

and all of this is mine

You press your precious heart into the palm of careless beggars past your fear

You lift your face to courage and you step into the rain to hide your tear

You sense the call of history and steal yourself to unknown – you decline

and all of this is mine

You lean into the chorus just to give the whole stability

You peer beyond the soul and offer all of your ability

You softly step to soundless passage and incline

and all of this is mine

Anni,

this is awesome. Your rhyme sounds effortless- enough so to make me pale with envy. (I am not very good with rhyme.) Yours, ~Nina P.S. begger->beggar?

I feel honoured ta

Wow Nina, I feel very humbled by that comment from you, who seem to me so experienced in all things poetic... You need not be envious of anything (I'm sure you're not in truth), you have your own wonderful dance. Anni I wish to walk gracefully..... so as not to spill water.

Anni, believe it or not:

I seldom rhyme, because I find it incredibly hard work! And I feel much more comfortable without rhyme when I write. Take a peek at my newest post if you like: I have tried to rhyme again in that one (It´s "Dogged love") and am anything but happy with the result. Sincerely, ~Nina

All our maypole dance of mutual affections & delight!

Hahhhh you gorgeous girl... no I do not... well... not unless we all do that together... such a space for mutual admiration isn't it!! We could do a gorgeous maypole dance with the thread of these works of eachothers we love entwining about ourselves. To be honest this was an exercise in acknowledging myself inspired by an exercise in "The Artists Way" by Julia Cameron (everyone should do that at least once, do get it if you haven't, you'd love it... it's all about nurturing your own creative being... I have set up a supportive cluster group to work through the exercises on facebook if you want to have a look, I'll send the link)... But I had to write it as if it were someone else cos the idea of it being written about me in a public arena was impossible to bare... We are so frightened of looking egotistical we can barely be nice to ourselves, it's not good. I do love playing with symbolic imagery & seeing how it comes up in another head & heart though, it's delightful.... The brushing flames of course had some link to the way my hair is... Sometimes I wonder if it isn't a manifestation of the over abundance of passion I have... it can't stay in my head & needs to tumble out of my scalp like that... but that wasn't the sense of that line in the poem of course.. you can ponder that yourself xx Anni I wish to walk gracefully..... so as not to spill water.

Anni, I finally got around

Anni, I finally got around to reading this and I think it's absolutely amazing!! I can see some Joni seeping through these lines which I love because she continues to inspire me *all the time*! I couldn't help but reading some of the comments of course and you mentioned this write is sort of based on an exercise in acknowledging yourself (which makes me think of Whitman's Song of Myself now and that's got to be one of the greatest poems in history) Anyway, before I read that comment, this piece held a very different but very dear meaning to me on a personal level, so I'll cherish that as well. There are too many lines that I love so can't quote 'em all.. What I personally love about writing - and I recognize that in your work - is the wonderful world of imagination and just letting whatever enters your mind flow and write it all down until it all comes together (and it does!) Does that make any sense? I mean it as a great compliment because your writing is so passionate (the metaphor that is your hair, right ; ) A beautiful abundance of words and thoughts.. 'I celebrate you' Anni (to use Whitman again) ~Stella

I am overjoyed that you respond this way Stella, since I admire

Of course I am overjoyed that you respond this way Stella, since I admire your skill so much. You know this is all still pretty new to me, I have always written, often songs, but other things I never presumed to call poetry, which I realise it probably was in a way. Ah yes, beautiful Joni, how I bless her, she was such a constant & heartfelt companion in my early teens... & ever since, like you. I must revisit Whitman, I love that line "I celebrate you", I feel the same... lovely! Be well & warm Stella, what a shame I didn't know when you came over here, there are some fantastic musicians you might have really enjoyed. Cheers xx Anni "Out beyond the ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I will meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about ideas, language, and even the phrase, "each other" doesn't make any sense."
