White light

 "White light"

The light from the bright light

of daylight

in snow-light

shines in through the window

and dazzles our eyes

It snowed and it snowed

all day and all night-light

and now its a curtain

of swathe-shapes

so bold

some become figures

the trees with their fingers

all fussing about in the gardens

of neighbours

others are goose-pimpled

skin-like white smoothness

nipples and stomachs

so pregnant

and cold

white the sky

white the land

white our hands

white the landscape

trees grey all worrying

on their way to the lake

which is fake

only flakes

form its surface

all piled on the ice

winter is blooming

with blossoms

so nice (old meaning of this word!)

Very Nice Sweetie

I like it. Altho we never have snow in Arizona. I wish we could.

What is the old meaning of nice? Fine?

The repetition works well here, giving it a hypnotic effect. The shortened syllables at the end of ideas is also effective. I love these lines: "so pregnant/and cold." They themselves are chilly. I'd suggest removing the quotations around "fingers" and letting the personification work fully. Also, you have a punctuation error in stanza 1 (it's). I'd love to visit your country. Winter is my favorite season and it's so short in my part of the country.

How I miss the old goat

or was it a goat? I became quite fond of him, not that I don't like Hippopotamuses. Thank you Hippo, I have done as you so correctly suggested and removed the ''''', but the 'its' I don't know where you mean, its in the American and English for its, without any ''''''. Or what do you mean? Yes it even snowed again today, we went a walk in the fine powder that fell all the time even when the sun finally drew the curtain of grey from where we were, the town still in its cloud of pollution and morning greyness. High on the hill among the tall firs heavily laden pines and frozen twigged birches. Thank you from Ann

Ann, simply stated, It's beautiful!

You made me want to be there and I hate winter and snow, except in pictures. *G* I loved the poem. Very well done. Respectfully, Rett: "Next time you think you're perfect, walk on water." If government is the answer, it's a stupid question!
