The Eyes Have It
Have you ever noticed
that it's not perfection that makes us who we are?
Not by a long shot, my friends.
It's really all of the flaws
that gives us our unique brand of character,
our personal "hues", as it were.
And the colors of our existence
says so much more than mere "pigmentation" could ever say,
because we are each defined by our own individual "rainbows".
Which, whether we know it or not,
can either attract someone, or repel them away from us;
so really, we all need to be aware and work on our personal "tints", and "hues".
For when we each add our own interpretation
of blue, red, yellow, and all of the colors in between,
we must do our level best to make them as "pure" as we can;
for we owe that much to ourselves, and to others, as well.
Surely, we all realize that we're only on this planet for but a fraction of time;
and we cannot afford to be misleading, or waste those moments for ourselves, or for others.
Because, we may just end up regretting the different "shades" of colors
that we've displayed on our personal "canvas of life", be it wittingly or unwittingly,
for all of the immeasurable moments of eternity.
Everyone needs to look everyone else, dead in the eye
and recognize each of our uniquenesses;
for I believe, that there is nothing sadder than seeing vacancy through the windows of another's soul;
or worse yet, in the reflection of our own eyes.
The "colors" that represent integrity, honesty, patience, and hope
should truly be the brightest colors of our existence;
and my prayer for all, would be that each of our pairs of eyes
would remain full of the "purest colors" of our own personal "rainbows",
and would continue to reflect the most beautiful of "rainbows", that are our fellows, as well.
that it's not perfection that makes us who we are?
