The Fire In My Blood

I've told you before my sweet
but it bears repeating now
upon this helpless edge of joy

bodies joined
breath shared
hearts hammering
skins melded
heat welded
to this pressure ridge
that seperates
our pleasure from our ecstacy
where your impish grin becomes
a lower lip caught in teeth
and your face says that
you cannot quite
believe the pure delight
of rhythm we're about to start
love flooding from your dark
jet eyes into my heart...

of all the women of the world
the only one
who'll ever feel my touch
is you
the years we've spent together
seem as brief as stolen moments
and the years we'll share
for decades hence will never be enough
marriage, children, work and play
long years of building family
I thought I'd never have
and even now
you fire my blood.

Hello Jim

This is very hot, yet a beautiful testament to woman involved. I love the words: where your impish grin becomes a lower lip caught in teeth Yours, Deelilah

Not TOO steamy, I hope. I do few love poems, and when I do they are usually a lot more graphic than this one, I guess cuz I'm a guy! lol Glad you liked it. Sincerely Jim "Laws and rules don't kill freedom: narrow-minded intolerance does" : Race

Hi Shan

The speaker is male! LOL its a poem I wrote for the lady I love above all others. She read it, then spent the rest of the day thanking me for it ;) Glad that you enjoyed it, Respectfully Jim "Laws and rules don't kill freedom: narrow-minded intolerance does" : Race

Jim,

wonderful tribute to your "better half" (I assume it is about her?!). Wish I would find a love like the one you two have... Yours, ~Nina

Thank you so much! Yes, it is about her...it had better be, or I am in some SERIOUS trouble! There are 3.5 billion adults in the world, about a 2/3 of a billion of which are eligible bachelors! Keep looking my friend, keep looking. Respectfully Jim "Laws and rules don't kill freedom: narrow-minded intolerance does" : Race

All I can say is that I wish that I had written this one. Outstanding my friend. Simply outstanding. The lines that really hammered it home for me were these... of all the women of the world the only one who’ll ever feel my touch is you I cannot do less than give you 5/5 for this one!
