The Simple Truths
There are many "simple truths" in each of our lives.
Some of which we share,
and some that belong soley to the individual.
The "simple truths" are there for us to behold,
to maybe help us "time" some event, or mark a signature in time,
or sometimes, just to learn from. But, use them for the shadier deeds of life
to adjust the lighting on a road less travelled,
and you will surely hear the gravel of scrutiny beckon,
see fate, with sudden clarity and conviction,
and feel the cosmic weight shift, to make way for
logical explanations, rather than intelligent ideas,
serious doubts, rather than promises,
and, more than likely sarcasm rather than hope.
The bottom line is quite simple,
our searches for these "simple truths" are controlled
but not by ourselves.
For some reason, we're but pedestrians of knowledge,
unable to decipher life's intricate meanings,
color life's rainbows with expressions,
or to discerne where the bottom line goes, when it's under scrutiny.
Which brings us full circle
to the place where we started,
back to seeing these "simple truths" in the "light"...and learning from them, too.
