I clung to your body last night

Pretending this moment would endure

Knowing it would not

I left your side at dawn

A back turned to me on the bed

I resisted the penetrating cold light

Feeble in clinging to the illusion

The voice that warns

Left unheeded in my reckless pursuit

Of destruction and deception

Helpless to change

My slowly descending road

Unremitting rebellion to the light

 A force that drives me

Circular journey

Return to that which

Will not be denied

Wanton

Unfulfilled

Empty

I

Kristeta...

Hi, I think I've not read anything of yours and it would appear I've been missing out... this self-reflective poem of yours has the haunting quality for the reader... a very generous poem... the kind that makes me glad to be here in this time... thanks for posting! Richard

Thank you Richard

I was so hesitant to post this poem and I appreciate that you captured the haunting quality....I know that when I wrote this there was a very deep emotion and fear of where I was headed...it lingers in me still this feeling that there is no true recourse. I am thankful for this site, for poets, dreamers and all who dare to read between the lines.

Kristeta,

so many new poets have joined us lately and I must say that none of them has grown on me as you have. your presence is wonderful and so comfortable, it feels like you have always been here. each piece varies from the one before in all the right places, fresh and new. I cannot quite pin your style yet but find that absolutely great. I am ever so glad you joined us, Lady von Popper! your Proprietress

Dear Proprietess,

With great humility this lady bows her head and accepts such words of praise from a lady as fine as you. So with common thread we weave our tapestries, words that intertwine through this cyberspace. Thank you for such a warm welcome, I too feel a comfort here, unexpected and deeply appreciated. Lady von Popper (I love it!)
