Civilization

Does it derive
The juice to drive
Itself from sex?

Pregnant with social import
The children must be taught
A certain circumspection
Understandably.

And yet has it not gone too far?

Just picture those unending ranks
Of god-fearing, guilt-ridden kids
Battering and flattering themselves
Each and every one

As if they had invented
In wickedness unique
Self-pleasuring
Single-handedly.

Double Meaning

I chose "pregnant" as a play on words: what makes careless sex especially "pregnant" with social consequences is pregnancy itself! Thanks for your comment and question!
